PJO RANT FOR THE ONE PERSON WHO ASKED :D
@seeking-further-illumination here you go, lol.
I think that the expectations of the show were for exactly what everyone wanted, because of Rick's involvement and the budget, but everyone imagined the books differently, so not everyone could ever be happy with it.
There's that, and it is marketed towards a younger audience and I'm not making any assumptions but most of the fans who aren't happy [from what I can see] are a bit older then the target audience [not that there's anything wrong with that, obviously, don't come at me], and if you re read the first book it's literally written for children.
There's literally backlash for everything ever made because for some reason people just can't chill [???] but I think the reason the Percy Jackson show had such a large amount of people unhappy with it is because we haven't had anything like it before. I don't know how to explain it but we've all created our own little versions of the show and made our own content for the fandom cause we were left to our devices for so long, so now that we have something, viewers already have these empires in their heads that they want to see on screen.
I'll just put it like this, if the show came out, like, a few years after the og book series, there would be less people unhappy with it.

What if Mrs. Dodds hadn't been defeated by Percy?
I have thought about the first fight scene in the series a lot. While being very well written, and an interesting first encounter with the mythical world, I am curious as to what it would look like if Percy hadn't defeated Mrs. Dodds. While it makes some changes to the story, it could surprisingly work, and emphasize some themes the story comes back to later.
Percy is a young demigod who both doesn't know about the mythical world and doesn't know his place in it. Thus, winning his first fight relieves at least a little stress, since he was able to defeat Mrs. Dodds, but also removes some of the tension/questioning if he'll win more fights. Mrs. Dodds is a fury, one of the most vicious characters in the mythos. And she gets so easily defeated! Still, the gaslighting holds him down, and the fact he was away from the other students makes it worse.
But what if, instead of defeating her, Mrs. Dodds (revealed as Alecto) instead attacks him, and while he manages to get a scratch, when/if Chiron does see what happened, she transforms back and goes to report in front of him and the students what happened? She's still there, all the students know who she is, but none of them (except Percy and Grover) know the truth of her actions.
The gaslighting is now directly from Mrs. Dodds, who is using her power to put Percy into a demeaning role. She could go so as far to say she was attacked by him. Percy, already undermined by his environment at Yancy, would be experiencing a horrible nightmare of a situation. It would lead to him getting expelled, of course.
I feel like this would be able to speed up the story for adaptation, especially because then there wouldn't be the Mist trick of Mrs. Dodds never existing.

An Alternative Look at Bianca di Angelo AKA My Ideas of a Rewrite
Or by another name: My rewrite of a passively doomed innocent character to one that actively accidentally causes her doom
--
As always, this post contains spoilers for the Percy Jackson series, especially The Titan’s Curse.
--
This post is intended to be a sequel to my post about how I would change the Hunters of Artemis. However, it’s not required to read that as I’ll summarize the relevant parts of that post in a couple of sentences.
--
Continuing on with my new tradition of writing long posts about different ways to write controversial characters/concepts in the PJO series, I decided to make this one on Bianca di Angelo.
Bianca is a complicated character that readers have mixed feelings for. Bianca is known for immediately joining the Hunters after finding out she and Nico are demigods. This action is one of essentially leaving Nico behind. Some don’t like that she left Nico at all, some don’t like how she left Nico before determining Camp Half-Blood was a safe place for him. Some think she was manipulated by Artemis and Zoe, some think that she was escaping having to parent/babysit Nico. I personally don’t think she actually was parentified into taking care of Nico because of the timeline established in the book, but that is her stated reason in said book, so to each their own interpretation.
In any case, Bianca mainly died to serve as a source of guilt for Percy, a source of tension between Nico and Percy, and as a motivator for Nico to turn emo and become “the Ghost King.” Because she was basically there to serve the plot of others, her actions were all done in service to that. I wanted to present my ideas of a rewrite of her character in order to give her more of a consistent inner logic and motivation for why she chose her actions. To flesh her out before she inevitably dies for Nico’s [and Percy’s] character development, so to speak.
--
In order to make Bianca a more active character, I give her a made-up power. Here’s a link to my inspiration:
https://www.reddit.com/r/camphalfblood/comments/y6lhfu/a_long_list_of_suggestions_for_improving_the_use/
--
I will be presenting two ways of how Bianca could be rewritten in the story. The first one is shorter and follows more consistently with The Titan’s Curse. The second one is longer and starts with The Lightning Thief for no other reason than to give more time to bond with Bianca and feel her doom more acutely. I ended up changing her personality as well. I’ll expand more upon my reasoning after the rewrite parts where I delve more into the themes, but essentially I made her more obsessed with being rational and focused on long-term planning.
--
Onwards to the first rewrite:
The Hunters of Artemis is a group of talented hunters who forswear worldly pleasures (most notably romance) for the sake of the Hunt. The Hunters are usually made of women as women have less opportunities to form a hunting posse than men and have more reasons to want to escape the restrictions of society. Exceptions are made for younger children, especially young maidens, who prove to have a lot of potential and have nowhere else to go. During the events of the third book, the Hunters are all women.
--
While in danger from the fighting arising from the manticore attack and desperate to protect herself and Nico from the flying projectiles, Bianca reaches her hands out [Magneto style] and the ground starts to shake. However, soon after, the drama with Annabeth and Dr. Thorn happens and they fall off the cliff. As the danger is gone, Bianca has no reason to continue and she stops. She’s certain that she could have done more, but she keeps quiet about it and remains shaken. Nico is excited and thinks she is a hero, but Bianca is wary and concerned.
Everyone can tell that Bianca and Nico seem powerful. The Hunters suspect that she may be a daughter of Demeter as Bianca was able to control the ground and that seems like a Demeter power since Poseidon and Hades are not potential options. Even though everyone now knows the Big 3 are capable of breaking their oaths, it seems unlikely as Bianca and Nico are two years apart (twice the opportunity to get caught), and the ground shaking is more associated with Demeter/Poseidon anyways and Percy is already right there to cancel out Poseidon.
The Hunters are impressed by Bianca and tell her and Nico about being a demigod and about the Hunters. They bring Percy in to talk about Camp Half-Blood. Same events happen, but the Hunters do not recruit Bianca. They just abstractly mention that she could consider joining them next time they’re in town. As Nico is still a kid and didn’t do anything during the fight, they mainly ignore him. They acknowledge he may also show potential if he’s like Bianca and that’s it.
--
At camp, Bianca and Nico are put in the Hermes Cabin. However, the campers make sure to heavily emphasize introducing Bianca and Nico to the Demeter Cabin due to the manifestation of Bianca’s powers and the assumptions of parentage. During this introduction, a few Demeter kids showcase their powers and describe what their powers feel like to them. Bianca absorbs the knowledge and remarks that her powers feel different. The campers reassure her that it isn’t quite the same for everyone, but Bianca knows intrinsically that her powers are not the same. She keeps quiet about it and moves on. Nico, meanwhile, is excited about the potential of having Demeter as a parent and lists her Mythomagic stats.
As someone who had no parents and just Nico, Bianca is naturally wary of other people and their intentions. Getting attacked in DC and then suddenly thrust into a new world where myths are real certainly didn’t help Bianca’s mistrust and wariness of others. Bianca starts to realize that things aren’t adding up. All the campers have at least one parent they know of, the mortal one or the godly one. Bianca has no memory of either. She just remembers a lawyer acting like a pseudo-guardian who told them that their parents died and they were left with a trust fund. That combined with the rumors and dynamics of the campers with Percy and Thalia make Bianca deduce that something is wrong. She knows she is stronger than people realize and that someone was trying to cover the presence of her and Nico up.
Bianca decides to keep quiet about her deductions because she doesn’t trust the campers enough and she doesn’t want to rock the boat. After all, it is apparent that the camp is not the same after the betrayal of some previous campers that the Hermes Cabin discusses in not-so-hushed tones. She theorizes that the manticore attack means that she and Nico have to either remain year-long campers or they have to join a group like the Hunters, who are semi-immortal and in the company of a goddess. Bianca decides that the Hunters seems like a better long-term option for her and Nico as an Olympian and a talented group of Hunters could be helpful allies, they would learn how to fight, and they could see the world and not be holed up, like they were at the Casino and the military school.
--
Bianca tells Nico her plan for them to join the Hunters before Capture the Flag. Nico heavily disagrees with Bianca’s plan. To him, the camp has a more worldly atmosphere with people who are potential Mythomagic players. While the Hunters of Artemis have song and dance, it’s clear it’s more of a military setting and he wouldn’t be able to live a fun life. He wishes to try and make friends with the campers; after all, all of the younger people who helped them out, including Percy, Annabeth, Thalia, and Grover, are from the camp. Bianca argues that they need to make short-term sacrifices for a better long-term future and that Nico is thinking too immaturely. She says that they can’t trust the campers and they will never fit in. Nico argues that Demeter will eventually claim them. Bianca is frustrated that Nico isn’t just agreeing with her and snaps at him. She angrily states that she’ll join without him and if Nico wants to remain a kid forever, he can stay at Camp Half-Blood while she joins the Hunters. She is about to say that Demeter is likely not their parent when Percy interrupts them to tell them they have to go play Capture the Flag. Bianca and Nico go to their places with Nico then being extremely friendly to Percy, both because of his usual inquisitive nature, but also to show to Bianca that they have friends at camp.
--
Similar events happen with the Oracle. Zoe chooses not to take Percy because he is a boy and reminds her of Hercules. Percy stumbles upon Nico spying on Bianca and Zoe. Bianca argues with Zoe to go in Phoebe’s place as Bianca wants to prove her potential to be a Hunter as she knows she is too young to join otherwise. Zoe would rather take a more experienced Hunter, but Bianca argues that Artemis had previously acknowledged her potential during the manticore attack and that the Hunters are all about proving themselves. Zoe relents.
Same thing with Nico making Percy promise to keep Bianca safe.
During the quest, Bianca shows hints of power. But it’s never fully released. She also eventually opens up to Percy and reveals that she is doing this quest not just for herself, but also for Nico. Bianca hopes that by saving Artemis, she can generate enough goodwill for herself to also ask for Nico to be able to join the Hunters without having to prove himself. She plans on apologizing for the fight and convincing Nico to join the Hunters with her.
At the junkyard, Bianca dies in the process of getting a Hades Mythomagic figurine as an apology bribe for Nico.
------------------
Second rewrite:
Grover accidentally meets Bianca and Nico during the events of The Lightning Thief. He can sense that they are demigods but the Lotus Casino screws with Grover’s brain. He only realizes the significance of it after Percy and Annabeth drag him out, thus making him determined to go back and rescue them once the trio finishes their quest.
He later tells Chiron and they figure out a way to get Bianca and Nico out. Afterwards, Grover starts searching for Pan.
Bianca and Nico can’t remember much. It is chalked up to the magic of the Lotus Casino, and they are encouraged to make Camp Half-Blood their home.
Bianca and Nico have a hard-time interacting with their fellow campmates. The memory loss is one thing, but Nico is way more hyper than most campers, and Bianca is way more distrustful of others. Bianca keeps her distance and listens around to the gossip. She learns that Percy is an unusual case. She has concerns that she keeps to herself about how she ended up in the Lotus Casino with Nico at such a young age, and can only vaguely remember some lawyer talking about dead parents and a trust fund.
Nico has an easier time feeling like he fits in, however, as he is more optimistic and happy. He doesn’t feel like an outsider nor does he think he is one.
--
Bianca and Nico are around for the events of The Sea of Monsters. Bianca does not yet have enough training to fight the Colchis Bull, so she was more of an observer.
The series of events arising from this book make Bianca realize that Camp Half-Blood is really not as stable an environment as it was originally presented to be. The protective tree barrier came down, and she and Nico could have very well died in the bull attack. Bianca starts analyzing her future options and theorizes that trying to live a normal life might be worth taking a chance. Pretending to be a mortal is certainly better than dying to a bull, no matter what Nico says about how cool-looking it was.
Bianca asks permission to be able to enroll in a school with Nico as they have a trust fund to their name. Ordinarily this wouldn’t be done, but Bianca points out they have limited life experiences as it is, and they need to explore school to see if it works. She promises that they will call the camp if anything goes wrong. No one wants to agree as their safety isn’t guaranteed and they have no outside family, but Chiron feels bad for Bianca for not being able to experience school when she wants to.
Nico is unhappy as Camp Half-Blood is a dream come true for him, but he goes along with Bianca’s decision in order to stick close to her.
--
[Connecting this to my Luke rewrite. If Luke trained Bianca and Nico throughout the second book, he would help them get stronger while also imparting a mistrust of the gods. Bianca sees no future in Camp Half-Blood for either her or Nico. But she never trusted Luke enough for him to get an opportunity to persuade her to join Kronos. His betrayal just strengthened her belief that the camp is too volatile to trust and that she should keep her cards close to her chest.]
--
This kickstarts the opening to the third book. Grover was sent to check-up on Bianca and Nico and he suspects Dr. Thorn is up to something and calls in Thalia, Percy, and Annabeth.
Bianca ends up creating a fissure in the ground when protecting Nico. The others suspect that she is a powerful child of Demeter and was about to create a mega root or tree or something. Bianca felt like she was about to drag something dark and alive up, not a root. She keeps quiet about this, but asks Nico if he ever felt something. Nico says no.
The Hunters talk to Bianca and say she has potential. Zoe mentions that Bianca is doing a good job with Nico, but if she ever wants to leave her responsibilities [to Nico] behind and join the Hunters in the future, she should. And if Nico later wants to join her in the future when he comes of age, he could.
--
Bianca secretly experiments when they go back to camp and summons a skeleton out of a fissure she created. She realizes she is a daughter of Hades and that is probably why she was left in the Lotus Casino and why she and Nico are still not claimed despite being siblings (double the time to get caught) and her displaying powers.
Bianca knows that being a daughter of Hades is not a good thing. Percy is involved in a quest every year and everyone gossips that there are not supposed to be kids of the Big 3. She knows Thalia was turned into a tree and then came back. Hades sent monsters after both Percy and Thalia, who knows what Zeus and Poseidon would send after her and Nico for revenge.
She realizes that joining the Hunters would allow her to join a group of competent individuals who would have her back and she would gain the competency to fight all the monsters and win. Going to school is no longer an option as she and Nico had to get bailed out, thus the Hunters are their only way to leave Camp and be safe. Plus, Artemis is on the Hunters and could provide a safety net.
--
She and Nico argue about this before Capture the Flag. Bianca reveals that she suspects that they are Hades’ children and makes Nico swear to her not to reveal his powers. She says they are not safe in camp and they have to get out. That there is a real world out there that she and Nico are missing out on, but being a kid of Hades will give them a black mark. Nico balks at this. He feels like he is making friends at camp, and that it is a magical place. He argues that she just sees the bad in everything and she is ignoring the good in Camp Half-Blood. Bianca argues that he is naive, she doesn’t like the Camp, and will join the Hunters without him. Percy interrupts the conversation with his presence.
--
Similar events happen with the Oracle and Zoe. Percy stumbles upon Nico spying on Bianca and Zoe. Bianca argues with Zoe to go in Phoebe’s place as Bianca wants to prove her potential to be a Hunter as she knows she is too young. Zoe would rather take a more experienced Hunter but Bianca argues that Artemis had previously acknowledged her potential during the manticore attack and that the Hunters are all about proving themselves. Zoe relents. Nico makes Percy to make sure that Bianca is safe.
Bianca does not use any of her abilities during the quest. She does not want to reveal her identity as a child of Hades as she does not want to bring more attention to herself and give a reason to the Hunters to not accept her. She also doesn’t want any blowback against Nico.
She tells Percy she is committed to joining the Hunters as she wants to be able to explore the world. She would like it if Nico came along, but if he doesn’t, she knows she can make the world safer for him by killing off monsters. She feels that Zoe is right that she has been responsible for Nico, and she doesn’t want to lose herself or for him to lose himself while caring for each other. She still doesn’t think the camp is safe, but asks Percy to keep an eye out on Nico and make sure he is safe. She tells Percy that she and Nico need to talk to Chiron about their plans. [Bianca plans on either getting Nico to join her, or telling Chiron their heritage under the promise that he keeps Nico well inside camp boundaries.] Percy argues against Bianca’s plan, saying she would be leaving Nico behind and the Camp isn’t deserving of her mistrust. Bianca stays strong to her arguments, and it is clear that Bianca doesn’t truly think that she and Nico will be separated for a long time.
--
Bianca steals a Hades Mythomagic figure from the Junkyard because she knows Nico is missing that one, and she thinks it’s a good apology and starting point for their future conversation. And she dies.
When Percy tells Nico, Nico unleashes his powers due to his emotions. However, Nico already knew he was a kid of Hades at this point, he just didn’t have the capability of controlling it. Percy realizes their heritage and why Bianca was so secretive yet insistent about asking Percy to keep an eye out on Nico.
--
My theme for this rewrite revolves around dreams and contrasts between siblings. Bianca and Nico were both memory-wiped by the River Lethe and suddenly introduced to the outside world after spending a lot of time in the Lotus Casino. Due to not having much lived experience to base her reactions on, Bianca is more wary of the world. She doesn’t know what’s going to happen, what people’s reactions may be, nor who is on her side. All she has are her fears, and she is scared of a world that they cannot control, like the Lotus Casino. Bianca had no idea how long she was there, and she wasn’t able to control coming in and out of it. She dreams of a future that is secure and stable. A future where she controls where she goes. She is thus obsessed with using rationality to plan out something that she can control.
Nico also does not have much lived experience to base his reactions on. He doesn’t know what’s going to happen, what people’s reactions will be, nor who he could trust. But he sees all the potential in the world, all the magic that’s apparently alive from Mythomagic. He dreams of a future in which he and Bianca are heroes and are a part of something. He likes spontaneity and going along with the adventure as life has many paths he can go on. They went through the same thing, but Bianca and Nico have different takes on life and this affects the decisions they make.
This also affects their weaknesses. Bianca leans more on rationality, control, and her dreams of the future which doubles up as her weaknesses. She discounts the impact of her personal emotions on her long-term plans, forgets that in order to make her long-term goals happen that there will be short-term consequences that may be different than she theorizes, and is very distrustful of others. Nico leans more on emotions and short-term goals which turns into his weaknesses as he forgets about rationality and leans more into his anger, discounts the long-term effects his short-term plans may have, and is more trusting of others. After Bianca dies, Nico becomes angrier at the world and more secretive, as he never forgets Bianca telling him that they can’t trust everyone. Nico is both too trusting and naive, but also secretive and mistrustful. His anger and grief clash with his previous mindset of loyalty and optimism.
--
As a recap, Bianca feels that Camp Half-Blood has too many variables. She’s observant and realizes that the Camp is going through it right now with all the various prophecies. It’s not something that she or Nico can control. She thinks the Hunters, a group that is more timeless, allows her more agency. In the first rewrite she makes the snap decision to join them, but her snap decision has a logical basis and she does plan on taking Nico along.
What hampers her, is that in the process of idealizing a goal and mapping out her long-term future, she forgot about the short-term reality. She does not have much command over her powers to protect herself, almost no training with weapons, and she’s a kid who is prone to mistakes as much as she would like to think otherwise. She underestimated the amount of control she actually had over her life. Joining the quest to prove herself to the Hunters was always going to be a risky gamble, and dangerous for one in her situation. She joined it anyway, as she is a dreamer, just in a different way than we may usually think of one. She stole the Hades figurine to resolve her argument with Nico, an emotional decision where she wasn't concerned with the consequence of stealing as she was more focused on a future goal [of reuniting with Nico]. True rationality would probably be accepting that there are things you can’t control and moving on, something Bianca realized too late.
--
In the second rewrite, Bianca is at the camp for a longer period of time and is more disgruntled and desperate. She sees the prophecies and danger in action numerous times. She realizes that she is potentially a daughter of Hades and doesn’t want to deal with the trouble that would bring. Her mistrustful nature leads her to not ask for advice and she makes the decision to join the Hunters for the same reason in the first rewrite. To her, the Hunters are less of a found family and more of an opportunity to escape what she saw as a short life-span spent solely in a summer camp.
Her gamble to join the Hunters is probably worse in the second rewrite though because she actively could be using her powers to make herself safer, but she chooses not to because she fears the potential backlash in the distant future.
In this version, she spends more time with Nico and looks after him more. While she loves Nico, she does not exactly see eye to eye with him, and she is frustrated that he won’t go along with what she says. Her time with the Hunters forces her to realize that she does not want to have parental responsibility over Nico for all time. She starts to move from thinking she would always be with Nico, to being okay with him being at Camp Half-Blood, albeit in a safe role in the Camp. Bianca dreams of exploring the world and becoming highly proficient to be safe in life, but she realizes that Nico would prefer to explore the camp and form connections there.
She has this complicated internal feelings, where she seeks to protect Nico, but not be responsible for him, but also to plan out his life and make sure he is safe. The sides of her that care for Nico are stronger than the ones where she doesn't want to be responsible for Nico, as she would rather be able to ensure and be in control of his safety. But she becomes more open to actually leaving to join the Hunters without him as she views the Hunters as a group that Nico can also join in the future and they can travel together. And she thinks his attachment to the camp should be respected by her.
In either case, she wants to have a better conversation with him where they discuss their future when she returns to camp. She does not actually think that they will have a long separation, as her exposure to the Hunters is one that is a group that visits Camp Half-Blood. She dies in the process of getting the figurine as an apology present and a conversation starter for when she gets back.
--
I didn’t truly change that much in the plot, but I think changing Bianca’s characterization gives her more motives and logical reasoning for why she makes the choices she does. Either way, I kept up with keeping Bianca as a doomed innocent character with a life cut too short.
As a note, I’d like to say that I kept Bianca in the dark about the prophecy. While it would be interesting to make her join the Hunters to escape the prophecy (lol like Thalia), I decided against it. There’s just something about information asymmetry. Bianca knows more than others think, but they also know more about her potential future of being a kid of the Big 3 than she thinks. Bianca could have accidentally escaped the prophecy if she lived and joined the Hunters, but she never was destined for the Great Prophecy as her end was foreseen by the prophecy the Oracle told Zoe.

Hi! Can you do a what if a child of Nyx was in the Lightning thief? I love their character page so much, and they won’t leave my brain 😭
Gods, you guys are coming out of the woodwork with these “Demigod What ifs”. Alright, alright, here we goooo~ The first primordial demigod is as expected the Child of Nyx. Luckily I recently finished reading “The Sun and The Star” by Rick Riodan and Mark Oshiro, so with that, I’ll be using canonical elements of Nyx from the books as well as my NYX DEMIGODS H/C → {TUMBLR} || {AO3} ←  to supplement areas when needed/required to give more depth. The child of Nyx will be referred to with gender neutral pronouns with THEY/THEM for simplicity sake. There may be references to their sex (i.e. daughter of  //  son of) but does not dictate their dominant or overall identity and it is merely for semantics’ sake.
゚☾ ゚。⋆゚☾ ゚。⋆゚     {Warning: Really Long Text Below!}゚☾ ゚。⋆゚☾ ゚。⋆゚
Compared to past asks concerning darkness related demigods, such as there were a child of Hades and Thanatos, where they had a sneaking suspicion that they’re a powerful demigod, even Big Three Material, but this? This blows it out the window.
A demigod of Nyx would be powerful to monsters and other ancient Greek denizens, i.e. Chiron, Grover, and satyrs, that it doesn’t register. They know they’re powerful but the scope of the godly power just doesn’t register. Like it outside of their perception so they just can’t.
Not to mention as a demigod child of Nyx, it hasn’t…happened before? And a good majority has not interacted with Nyx before, so there’s a whole lot of confusion. Certain monsters aren’t as keen to to hunt or attack the demigod of Nyx due to their connection with Nyx, maybe even help them, i.e. the Hellhounds, or some get confused that they can tell they’re a powerful demigod so they’re hunted before they become a threat, but something is definitely off about them.
Let’s also just put aside how they were born, just for the sake of it; cause there are ways to go about it and its going to be insane; which we can’t delve into.
Though let's just say for story reason, Chiron and Grover think the child of Nyx is a demigod child of Hades, cause that’s the closest approximation they can glean from. And especially when they see the bits of power that leak from the Nyx demigod, that’s their only logical explanation.
As for how Percy becomes friends with the child of Nyx, I can see the child of Nyx resting underneath the darkness and shadows, covering themselves as much as they can so they’re less exposed to the light. Maybe even a parasol to walk underneath the sun. Basically, the child of Nyx has a sensitivity to sunlight or being sunburnt, difficulty with high UV rays, or an actual allergy to sunlight that does hurt them.
(Reflecting how Nyx does not like the Light, her polar opposite)And when the other kids start bullying the child of Nyx for being a ‘vampire’ along with  and trying to pull them into the sunlight to turn them into ‘dust’, Percy swoops in mad and starts arguing with them, fighting off their bullies. That’s when they start to become friends as they start to bond over not fitting in, being neurodivergent, and continues on. (It’s also a bonus for Grover, when they are introduced as he can keep an eye on Percy and this ‘child of Hades’).
Inevitably, the presence of the child of Nyx being there, helps Percy. Or at least, adds to the fact on how Percy went under the radar for so long, and why Mrs. Dodds a.k.a. Alecto didn’t spring onto Percy earlier. The child of Nyx unconsciously leaks their power, the same power that allowed them to remain hidden all this time, where they have power over darkness itself, they can remain hidden under any darkness. Especially at night; hiding Percy and themselves from Zeus or anyone unwanted, even the Furies, as they both sleep.
Zeus because Nyx is more powerful than Zeus and while open to the sky, when its dark out and therefore nighttime, it is Nyx’s domain. While the child of Nyx can’t hide from Zeus completely, as long as they do not draw attention, they’re safe and Zeus will not go searching around in Nyx’s domain (that Zeus himself fears). And if you’re asking wouldn’t appearing in the sunlight notify Apollo, and therefore Zeus of the child of Nyx’s position, well, there’s the difference in the ‘all-seeing’ epithet that Apollo shares with Helios, where Apollo’s more of ‘prophecy- all seeing’ while Helios was ‘all-seeing’ because he is the Sun. Not to mention the existence of the primordial demigods would not be a thought in anyone’s mind; you can’t keep an eye out for something you don’t even know exists. This however, also means, when exposed to the light, the child of Nyx are somewhat vulnerable. Weaker if anything. Powerwise and physically, they are limited when it is day. Pushing themselves too much, draining them, and recuperating will take them, even during the night.
And for the Furies, more specifically Alecto, it adds to why she held out for so long. Nyx is considered to be the Furies’ mother and therefore, the Furies also know the child of Nyx’s true identity. Balancing their principality of filial proprietary to their Mother, while also their loyalty to Hades, its a balancing act. There’s no doubt that Alecto is confused and probably not happy at the existence of a demigod child of Nyx but there’s that element of uncertainty as well because well, why? How? Regardless, Alecto is deterred from attacking Percy because of his proximity and friendship to the child of Nyx; thus keeping her away.
Going further of the fact she is a demigod child of Nyx, I think it would also apply to other monsters and individuals. For example, we know Cerebeus and the Hellhounds are from Nyx, so there’s a chance they’re not going to target and hunt the child of Nyx; maybe even get along with them like Mrs. O’ Leary. (Though there’s also a chance that they’re not completely safe from the hellhounds either so let’s not tempt fate shall we?) And with Percy’s subconsciousness of wanting to hide, being hidden and not drawing attention to himself, maybe the child of Nyx’s power also applies to such a matter.
Up until Percy uses his powers at the Museum to push Nancy Bobofit into the fountain, coming into his presence as a demigod, I can see Alecto thinking Percy is deliberately staying close to the child of Nyx or involved them even, to first steal and/or hide the Helm of Darkness of Hades for that long because of the child of Nyx’s presence; from their sheer power and aura. Skipping to when the child of Nyx arrives at Camp, around the same time Percy does, it's pretty similar to the “Child of Hades” VER. and “Child of Thanatos” Ver. They remain close and find solace, wondering about their godly parents, unable to fit for the longest time to find what they’re good at, and when Percy gets claimed, its hard to talk to each other because of being a forbidden child. Chiron may try to elude to the child of Nyx that they’re a ‘child of Hades’ and they cannot reveal themselves, because Zeus would surely strike them and agitate the looming civil war even more. Percy may have the same suspicions but would not comment on it because he wants to keep things on the downlow to protect his friend. The same song and dance happens, asking if they can sense his mom is dead etc. Though in this case, the child of Nyx can sense her in some way but they’re not sure what that means for sure.
There’s a slight difference in Luke’s approach to the child of Nyx because Kronos would whisper that they are a very powerful demigod and they are not even a child of a god, their parentage older than the gods. I’m not sure if Kronos would reveal to Luke they are a primordial demigod, regardless Luke would be very insistent on getting to know them and bring them to his cause into overthrowing the gods. I can also see Kronos intercepting the child of Nyx in their dreams, telling them to join him because they are more than just a mere-demigod, and he knows that they’re aware they’re not comfortable with the word demigod.. A term that doesn’t fit them and they both know it's true, and that their godly parents would want them to join him, to be with someone closer to their true origin.
They’re definitely more insistent they join, not because they’re just powerful but there is as sense of bringing them into the fold as they should be. I can also imagine Nyx herself intercepting the child of Nyx’s dreams, just like she had done with Nico in The Sun and the Star book, but much stronger. Nyx shows the child of Nyx that the definition of demigods is not who they are, and they cannot be what they aren’t, that they won’t fit in with these children of the gods for they are beneath them; telling them they should listen to Luke and Kronos as it is a step to their rightful place. With some consolation they won’t be entirely alone because they would be with the children of minor gods; Hypnos and Nemesis, Hecate specifically- who Nyx semi-approves because those three minor gods are related to her. Nemesis and Hypnos being her children, and Hecate while not her own, her realm being the goddess of the night and moon. Though Nyx doesn’t tell the child of Nyx, who is still oblivious to their own godly parentage, until they have long joined the Kronos’ army.
Long story short, by the time Percy and the others are on their quest, before and during it, this is one of the situations of the “What Ifs” that the Child of Nyx is already helping Luke and Kronos, slotting themselves against the gods; whether knowingly or not, conscious or subconsciously. When it comes to Percy, Annabeth, and Grover to go on their quest, I can imagine that the child of Nyx somewhat accompanies Percy because they’re used to the presence of his shadow, so they keep track of him that way, maybe even shadow-traveling with his shadow; which they have probably done once or twice unconsciously. This brings a shiver to Percy’s back, feeling the heebie-jeebies as he can feel the child of Nyx passing through his shadow. I dunno if they’re able to astral walk with the night, keeping an eye of what’s going on when its night time, but it’s also a strong possibility. Inadvertently, the child of Nyx, consciously or subconsciously tells Luke of Percy’s journey, allowing him and Kronos to know. While he knows it's the child of Nyx, it's still uncomfortable and this actually makes Percy more aware of Kronos’ presence throughout the book because he knows what its like someone watching you from the shadows, and he knows it's something else.
When the trio gets to the underworld, things get inexplicably easier and harder. I can see Charon sniffing the child of Nyx, but because its so foreign yet familiar, I think Charon would think Percy is half-dead so getting through would be much easier (still gotta pay the toll feel tho). However, right before they depart the boat, Charon tells Percy that they have the smell of his mother on him, and that’s one of the reasons he hasn’t flagged him yet. And that he knows the child of Nyx is in his shadows so he’s not going to rat out on family, though next time if they come onto his boat, they still need to pay because not even siblings get a free pass or discounts.
Percy is confused because he doesn’t remember Charon that well, mixing up with Chiron, so he wouldn’t be able to tell that Charon’s mother is Nyx. At this point, he doesn’t know his full godly parentage and ancestral line, so he gets very confused. When it comes to Cereberus, remember what I said about hellhounds? I think Percy gets in easier and they get pretty far before the alarms go off because of Nyx’s presence and aura still lingering on Percy, maybe just as excited.
When it comes to almost dropping into Tartarus, Percy also pulls out the child of Nyx, who is being pulled in by the whisper of Tartarus and Nyx, and Kronos; to come join them. However, when it comes to meeting Hades, things start to come to light and the child of Nyx is ripped out of Percy’s shadow by Hades. Even in the presence of a god and even though they’re half-primordial, the child of Nyx is still half-mortal and very young. Hades, who is closer to Tartarus and Nyx, can feel the true godly parentage of Nyx within them. Percy starts yelling at Hades for treating their own kid like that, projecting some of his own early feelings about Poseidon, until Hades refutes Percy’s claims and says that the child of Nyx is not one of his, nor any of the chthonic gods. Everyone is confused because if the child of Nyx is not one of them, then how come they can use shadow travelling and manipulate the night sky. Hades tells them that they are not supposed to exist, not even possible and they are an anomaly to be killed or kept prisoner in the Underworld so they cannot be used, as well as the Lightning bolt and the Helm.
The story plays out like usual and when they have to use the Pearls, there’s a moment where there’s only three pearls but as Hades and the furies go to at least stop the child of Nyx, the interference of the primordial intervenes and they disappear with the darkness, just as Percy and the others disappear into the ocean.
The story goes on like usual but when it comes to Percy confronting Luke, he manages to disappear with the help with the child of Nyx; who had appeared back at Camp by Nyx, faced with the fact they are not a Child of Hades or any of the related Chthonic gods that could explain their existence, with Hades and probably any other god wants their existence to be snuffed out- so their only choice is to follow Luke and Kronos. They leave with Luke, and before they depart, they do thank Percy for being their friend but they have to live, and they can't stay in a camp full of demigods.
Percy is obviously hurt of course; if we’re going with the book version, the child of Nyx pulls Luke away before there’s scorpion poison or manages to blanket Percy before they leave. If we’re going with the TV show, the child of Nyx and Annabeth fight for a moment before Luke tells them they have to leave. The same words are said to Percy as they depart.
a/n: Oh gods, this got very long. I was struggling for various reasons but I did not imagine it would get this long. I hope I paced the paragraphs well enough and lets see if I don’t max out the Text limit on Tumblr!

camp camp headcanons
i tried my best to not contradict canon. i might’ve forgotten things though.
- max listens to insane clown posse.
- david’s birthday is in august. he’s a leo.
- nerris is really bad at baking but likes baking with their mother because it’s their bonding activity.
- ered listens to doja cat and avril lavigne.
- max’s birthday is at the beginning of june. it’s either just barely missed or it’s the first day of camp.
- the brother that harrison made disappear is his younger brother, who was like 3 years old.
- david and nikki bond about nature the same way that max and gwen bond about hating life.
- neil, unfortunately (to him), went down the pipeline of watching star wars to becoming obsessed with star wars rewrite fan fiction. he was horrified when nikki compared this to gwen’s romantic fan fiction.
- preston and harrison have a rivalry that no one cares about. they’ll try to have an entertainment show down, but people will just walk away.
- david’s dad left when he was 10 and his mother died when he was 20. he has no siblings.
- preston’s next musical he’s writing is “into the woods 2: beyond the trees.”
- nikki unironically loves nyan cat. she’ll look up videos on school laptops just to break down laughing at the videos.
- max is a really big south park and rick & morty fan. he gets varying levels of approval from david and gwen when he tries to watch these shows on david’s phone.
- david loves “accidentally in love” by counting crows (from the shrek 2 soundtrack). without a doubt, he plays an acoustic cover of it at least once every summer. everyone groans when they hear the first few notes.
- dolph goes through an oil pastel phase and a pottery phase with varying degrees of success.
- preston lives with his grandma because his parents are divorced, they both wanted to move away or travel, and neither of them wanted full custody.
- gwen had two ear piercings in each ear but had to take them out during the summer because it’s against camp rules.
- david has freckles during the summer.
- campbell does partially see david as a son, but he mostly sees david as someone who will defend him and get him out of trouble (until s3e7).
- ered and nerris develop a sibling dynamic after s3e2. ered is the first to defend nerris’ d&d interest.
- gwen watches the bachelor, love island, and bridgerton. she has only successfully convinced david to watch the first one with her. he cries like a baby when watching it.
- if david’s busy or not around, the campers go to preston to re-sew tears in their clothing. preston is average at sewing but that’s better than nothing.
- nerris loves indie video games like undertale and omori. nerris eventually convinces neil to like these games too.
- gwen and david hang out and video call each other throughout the year. usually twice a month.
- nurf ends up accidentally teaching space kid how to fight. it started with nurf making fun of space kid for having a black eye and somehow led to nurf having to stop space kid from wanting to fight everything.
- both nikki and space kid have cried over the dogs and cats that have died in space.
- once preston assigned musicals per each camper, and despite hating musicals, max listened to ‘his’ musical. (it was the percy jackson lightning thief musical, max was pissed at the recommendation before he heard ‘good kid’).
- gwen’s birthday is in november.
- ered and nurf have accidentally made themselves the ‘older sibling’s’ of the camp without intending to. whenever david, gwen, campbell, and quartermaster can’t be found, the campers almost always go to one of them without any real reason to.
- nerris and preston bond over elaborate costumes. harrison wants to join in but refuses to allow himself to.

Over and Over Again
Percabeth Reincarnation AU! rewrite of The Lightning Thief. But like detail light.
I didn't want to rewrite the entire book but I did want to touch on some of what I think would be diffrent This is still in progress, but I wanted to share!
@literallyjustforlurking and I have been brainstorming so much! Feel free to check out our community if you wanna chat about it!
Over and Over Again
Percy P. Jackson and Annabeth Chase meet as Percy is passing out after fighting The Minotaur.  She says something about him being the one and he’s out like a light. Percy laughs when he is set up in the Hermes cabin. He knew a son of Hermes once upon a time, In a different life.
When he watched Annabeth chase twirl her hair around her fingers as she thought Percy thought of someone he had been dreaming of since he was little.  At this point in his life Percy had come to terms with that fact that he was waiting, again, for a man.
He didn’t really care this time though, he was 12, and girls and kissing were still icky. Much to the amusement of an inner voice of his mind.  Yes Annabeth was pretty but, and this was a sticking point for Percy, He didn’t know if Odysseus were here.
Annabeth was also pushy, it was her way or no way it felt like. When she left Percy in the woods during capture the flag and abandoned him. He tried to pass the time by being super cool and normal, so he danced, it wasn’t something silly though, he wanted to floss thought it’d be fun. But instead he started the dance some ladies who had studied on Skyross once taught Penelope.
Then the bullies came for him. He managed to survive not only them, but the hell hound ambush before Annabeth bullied him into the water and he was claimed. When he was the trident above his head he knew he could never tell anyone whose memories he held. What would the sea god do to him? If he knew anything from living with Smelly Gabe it’s that upset men hurt those around them.
Percy was hesitant to step into the cabin of the sea god but found it far more peaceful than how he often considered the ocean to be.
What Percy hadn’t really taken notice of until he was finally blissfully alone and safe by himself was that the chat in his chest was duller. Ever since the memories started Percy had felt a pulling. It got worse when he was around 7.  He never really understood it and his mom would brush his hair aside and tell him it was his heart reaching out for his other half.  That many, many, many years ago Humans were combined. One perfect being split into two. Both halves forced to wonder around looking for their other half. His ache, that was his heart reaching out for its other half.
That first night in his cabin Percy dreamt of a man sailing away from him in a cliff. He was so unsure of himself as he clutched a baby in his arms and cried as he watched a fleet of ships sail away.
Percy watched everyone after coming to camp. He saw a lot. He saw the anger in Clarisse, how tired Chiron was, and how unsure of himself Grover was. But the person who drew his eyes the most? Annabeth Chase. He saw her at the archery range one day. Not necessarily odd, what was however was the bow she was using, it was a palintonos bow. Just like the one Odysseus had. Just like the one Penelope tricked the suitors with.  Annabeth bit her lip and she flexed and let an arrow fly. It hit its target.
Percy watched her even closer after that.
When they left on their quest at some point Annabeth spoke on how their parents hated each other and Percy just nodded. He was aware of some of the tension between Athena and Poseidon. Hell, he was in a strange way related to part of the problem.  Knowing that Ithaca’s royal family had some ties to Athena even if as a spartan princess Penelope had prayed to Ares (Which would later make Percy shutter a bit).
Annabeth seemed really against calling on the gods for help, almost as much as Percy was until they made it to the St. Louis arch. By the time they felt with Ares (Definite not praying to that olympian for a while) and got on the truck taking them to Vegas Percy was pretty sure Annabeth was hiding something. Percy was pretty sure it was something similar to his issue. A past life maybe, but one of the opposite sex, how could he tell? Annabeth was subtle about her gender dysphoria but Percy had been experiencing it his entire (Current) life.
At one point Annabeth had called themself their mother’s son. They also only wore men’s shoes, which wasn’t too weird, but even of the women’s was more comfortable, Annabeth went for the mens, the most utilitarian in style.  While they were shoved in the back with the animals and grover was trying to sleep Percy looked up at the other pre-teen.
“I never asked, do you prefer She/Her? Or they/ them, maybe a he/they situation?”
Annabeth looked up at him confused, “What?”
“Well,” Percy rubbed his head on the back of his neck,” You just… seam uncomfortable with like,” He waved his hand now he could feel his face flush, “Like, Femininity? Not you have to be trans or even like non-binary I just know that when I was figuring myself out I had my mom use She and They pronouns for me a lot and It helped. And If I can do that for you…” She stopped and Annabeth laughed. It was deep, and Percy thought it was beautiful.
“I… right now He/Him would be fantastic,” Annabeth said as she rubbed her temples before sliding her hand down her face and as she looked up she asked Percy, “What about you?”
“I’m fine she He or she. I’ve come to accept a lot more of myself this past year.”  He waited a beat and when Annabeth only hummed in response he asked the other boy. “Do you have a name you want me to use?”
That’s when Annabeth started crying, “No, I. I can’t.” Percy scooted closer to the crying boy.
“It’s okay, sometimes what’s in our hearts aren’t to share.” Percy said softly. “I… I’m scared too.”
Grover woke up then, Percy could tell he was being quiet to give them the space they needed.  Then with a small voice grover asked, “Do you us to use your other name P?” Grover had found out pretty quickly into their year at Yancy that Percy was Gender fluid and honestly didn’t think too much of it. There were stranger things in their world.
“Nah, I’m good right now G-Man”. Percy said as he eyed Annabeth.
“Can I.” Annabeth started, “Ask what the name you use is?”
“Penelope,” Percy said.
They stoped shortly after, freed the animals and left the truck behind.
When they made it to the Lotus Hotel Annabeth took one look at it and then grabbed the hands of his companions and dragged them away, “We are not going in there,”.
“What why?” Grover asked.
“In the Odyssey,” Annabeth started, and tried not to smear the word, ”If you eat a lotus flower you loose yourself, If you sleep on a lotus bed you sleep for 100 years, Lotus eaters are deceitful pitiful creatures and we will not be going in there.”
“Uh… okay.” Grover Stammered out.
They stopped at a much rougher looking hotel but they woke up the next morning with the sun and started on their journey, never knowing that under different circumstances they’d have lost so much of their precious time.
Percy gets the pearls in Santa Monica and they continue on looking for the underworld. They run into a monster trying to sell them beds, But Annabeth managed to talk to the guy about a bed made out of a tree. And how if the wood of living it could grow with the person. The monster stopped to consider this and that’s when Percy dispatched him. “Carved out of an olive tree.” Percy said softly under his breath. Annabeth turned to him eyes wide.
“What did you say?”
“Uh… nothing, it’s nothing important.”
They finally bribed their way to the underworld, made friends with Cerberus, almost got sucked into the pit, and got an Audience with Hades. He didn’t have the bolt, He was also missing his helm.  But more than that. When they first walked up to the lord of the dead he looked at the three of them confused,
“What are you doing here again,” he said with an annoyed voice,
“Again sir?” Percy asked confused.
“I let you both go from this place why have you returned. Seeking another Prophet Odysseus?”
Percy turned to look at his companions. “Odysseus.” He said with shock.
Annabeth Walked around Percy and before the Hades said, “We came for the master bolt and for Sally Jackson”. Then he took in a deep breath, “I’m not here to seek anything or anyone else.”
“Odysseus…” Percy said again reaching out a hand.
“Well I have not the bolt and I will not return Sally Jackson until My helm is returned to be Odysseus of Ithaca. Now get out of my sight”. And he waved a hand and the three kids vanished.
Grover looked at Annabeth and Percy who were staring at each other in disbelief. “Guys what was he talking about?” And then he turned a rumbling of a motor cycle, “GUYS”
Then they became  too busy fighting a literal god to talk more.
Annabeth chase, Odysseus of Ithaca, was freaking out. She was a 12 year old CHILD, but she was also more than that. She was staring in Horror at Penelope, at Percy, fight Ares the literal GOD of WAR, That she knew her wife once prayed to. They hadn’t been able to speak but Annabeth knew the coincidence of her name and knowing about the tree and just accepting the lotus eaters. Odysseus was staring at one of the two entities on this entire planet he would do anything for. If Penelope were here, was Telemachus, a small part go his brain whispered, Is your crew, is the crew you abandoned and betrayed here.
They didn’t get to talk about it on the way back to New York, Percy looked sick in the sky and then shushed Annabeth when she tried to ask when they got off the plane at the airport.
“We’ll talk soon, I have to go return something. Wait for me?”
“Forever,” Odysseus said softly as he watched Penelope walk away from him and Grover.
“Hey grover,”
“Yeah Annabeth?”
“Let’s go back to She/Her for now.”
“R…right.” Came the Saytr’s response
Odysseus wouldn’t be able to talk to Penelope about what was going on yet. But they came to an agreement through quirked eyebrows and gestures to not speak of it to anyone yet.

Y'know somehow after all my years of rewritting WoF scenes for fun, I've never managed to tackle the prologue of TDP. Well, here you go. Blood/gore and character death warning, though you already knew what was gonna happen, huh?
In Hvitur's talons rested the fate of Pyrrhia.
Rain pelted against the IceWing as he flew through the storm, eyes scanning for any signs of shelter; of a place to hide. If he could only make it through the mountain pass he would be safe. The forest and cover of night would keep him hidden from the danger that lurked around.
He kept the egg clutched tightly. It was an unhatched dragon, one from the SkyWing tribe. This was the one night where everything mattered. He had to bring the prophecy to fruition. That was his one task: steal the SkyWing egg, bring it to a safe location, and then spend his years watching over the prophecy dragons. Being a Guardian to them.
Yet, not all of Pyrrhia believed in this prophecy. Some called it a hoax. A false sign of hope for this war to end. Others thought it was doomed from the start, to never be fully realized. However, there were a few who thought of it as an interruption to their plans. They believed it a nuisance. While some sang of peace and dreamed of it coming true, they saw it as nothing more than mad ramblings of harmony.
From the sounds of it, that last group was right behind him.
He glanced back to see three figures soaring only a tail length or two away. Lightning cracked across the sky, illuminating their features. SandWings, with the middle boasting a large, intimidating presence.
She had found him.
"Seize him!" she hissed.
Hvitur tried to fly faster. He wanted to dive, shift upwards, roll to the side, anything. Instead, he flailed as the guards caught up to him in an instant. They swiped their claws at his wings, ripping holes in the membrane.
He let out a roar of pain as he flailed. He attempted to hit them with a blast of frostbreath, but their descent was too fast and too disorienting. The pain from his wings and the falling made his head spin. By the time they hit the ground, he could feel them getting to work holding him in place. He only then noticed them putting a restraint on his snout.
The cool hard earth of the cliff face was what greeted Hvitur. It overlooked a sharp drop, jagged spikes at the bottom. He held the egg still close to his chest. He had to protect it. Pyrrhia's future rested upon him.
But hope dwindled as she drew closer.
The SandWing was large, towering over him. She was covered in a myriad of scars. Burns, slashes, bites, anything. One such scar was a slash mark that trailed from her neck down to her mid-stomach. Her scales were dulled, only a dusty copper red now. Her horns were curved around her head akin to that of a ram's. Her obsidian eyes stared at him with barely contained malice.
"Thought you could use your little ice breath on us, didn't you?" Her forked tongue slithered in and out of her mouth. "A noble tactic, though one easily outwitted. You should've used your spiked tail, or perhaps your serrated claws."
Hvitur merely growled in response. "You are a monster, Princess Burn."
"Queen Burn," she corrected. "I am the true heir to the throne. The eldest and current holder of the crown." Her eyes narrowed. "You talk too bold for a weak, snivelling IceWing." She dragged her barbed tail along the ground, the sound of it scraping against the rocks burrowing into Hvitur's mind.
Her eyes locked onto the odd way Hvitur lay. His wings were over his body and his legs and tailed tucked in. With no hesitation, Burn grabbed hold of his ripped wings and pushed them aside to reveal what was underneath.
"A SkyWing egg..." she muttered. She reached for it.
"No! You can't take it!"
"Make me," she snarled. Despite Hvitur's death grip on it, Burn easily pried him away. She was far stronger than any dragon he had encountered.
"Queen Scarlet's outpost guards had told me of a little thief. I only went after you to add some flavour to my rather boring visit." She looked over the egg in her talons. "I wondered at first why an IceWing of all dragons would steal a SkyWing egg. That my spineless idiot of a sister had a new plan to annoy me. Then, I looked to the moons." She gazed up at the three moons overlooking them. They watched on with quiet apathy to the situation, shining brilliantly.
"The Brightest Night is tomorrow," she continued. "Then it made sense." She quickly raised her barb to his throat, only a claw length away from puncturing his neck. "You're one of those peacemongers, aren't you?"
Hvitur stared at the barb in stunned, shocked silence. His heart was beating rapidly.
"SPEAK!"
"Yes! Yes, I am with them. The Talons of Peace," he sputtered out.
"Yes, yes, whatever name you useless pacifists call yourself." She snorted. "Crying over split blood as if it weren't in our nature to battle. Pathetic. A conflict can never be resolved through discussion. Not this one."
She lowered her barb. "No, this war can only be stopped once the life drains from my sisters' eyes. I refuse to listen to the pleas of dragons who think otherwise. No dragon can tell me when I die or who I bow to."
"Haven't enough dragons died?" Hvitur snapped back. "Twelve years of bloodshed, and for what? Nothing? There'll be only more and more. More lives lost. More families torn apart. More death and destruction, and for what!? For you to rule?"
"Tighten the mouth restraint," she ordered the guard. "Again, crying over split blood. Death and tragedy is what make war. It's what makes those who survive rise above. They're stronger. They overcome and kill any who are weaker. It's only what a dragon does best: kill."
"The dragonets will come no matter what you say! They--" Hvitur was beginning to struggle to speak with the restraint closing tighter.
Burn looked over the egg in her talons. "You say that as though I cannot simply crush this egg." A crooked smile appeared on her face. "Perhaps I could shatter it between my claws. Or, maybe I could stab it with my barb."
"You wouldn't..." Hvitur mustered. Even Princess Burn couldn't hurt a dragonet egg, could she?
That smile twisted into a grin. "Wouldn't that be even more tragic?" she asked. "No 'wings of sky' to save the world. What a sad tale for you worthless little worms. Queen Burn, the ruthless blood-lusting monster, destroying the prophesied egg before it could ever come to fruition." She walked over to the edge of the cliff. "With that, no dragonets came to save Pyrrhia, and she ascended to her rightfully earned throne. Oh, doesn't it tug on the heartstrings?" She held the egg dangerously close to the ledge.
Hvitur looked at her with a wide, panicked expression. He thrashed as she held it over the cliff face. "Please..."
Burn looked him dead in the eyes. She let out a sarcastic, dramatic sigh. "So much for destiny, I suppose." With it, she let the egg slip out of her claws, hurling towards its demise.
"NO!" Hvitur yelled. He tried with all of his might to break away. To lunge at her. To try tearing Burn to shreds for what she did.
"Enough with that!" Burn barked back. She raised her barb, this time stabbing it right through Hvitur's neck. Pain rippled throughout his body as the barb pierced through his scales, going right into his flesh.
He lurched. His mind raced as he tried to process the intense agony. Words failed him. Whatever half-baked insult or threat he could toss at the monstrous SandWing silenced by the blood in his throat.
Burn loomed over the shaking body of the IceWing. She tisked. "This is what you pacifists get." With it, she dragged him closer to the edge, letting his body ragdoll off of the cliff. The barb slipped out of him, and Hvitur fell to his death.
The prophecy was ruined. Pyrrhia was lost.

same person as last time -- i need to ask you the Important Questions:
whats movie night look like
by all means, keep the questions coming. i love talking about the slendermansion or even my own au!!!!
so movie night is INSANE in this house. they definitely have a chart that slenderman made where the person with the glittery star sticker next to their name gets to pick the movie for the night. now ben, being the guy that he is, bought a bunch of the star stickers off of amazon and puts them all over the chart. not even next to his name. just where ever to mess with people.
they all snuggle up on the couch in their pjs and eat snacks and watch the movies. here are some of their favorites:
jeff - slasher fan, obiously. i touched on this in my rewrite, (go check it out wink wink) he IDOLIZES micheal myers. glazes him to death. (cough me too cough) i think that he would pick Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, or A Nightmare on Elm Street.
ben - hes an animated movie kind of guy. i feel like hed like the studio ghibli movies, or really any anime stuff. i also hc that he really really really likes hatsune miku. his picks are Spirited Away, Colorful Stage!, and My Neighbor Totoro.
ej - noise sensitive king…he would prefer something calm. he also can’t see so i don’t think he cares as long as it doesn’t overstimulate him. his picks are Paddington, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Moonrise Kingdom.
toby - opposite of jack. needs stimulation. he would like fantasy. probably a harry potter fan. his picks are The Lightning Thief, Ms. Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (ironic), and Harry Potter.
tim and brian - WESTERNS. old movies, like the black and white kind. sort of references to marble hornets tapes with the old movies. The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Brokeback Mountain (lol im so funny), and Tombstone.
sally - oh you KNOW shes picking disney and dreamworks and all the classics. goated taste honestly. her picks are Frozen, Sleeping Beauty, and The Little Mermaid. (and you already know she knows all the words)
Liu - Psychological movies. Def a film snob. Jeff hates him for it. He is SO pretentious oml. His picks are Fight Club, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Pulp Fiction.
BLEHHHH THATS IT :P
